Once again, Mr André Fortier organize the NORTH-AMERICAN
WATER-X CHAMPIONSHIP in
ADMISSION ON THE RACE SITE:
Drivers, crew members and others will pay gate
admission fee: Saturday $15.00, Sunday $18.00 or week-end package $25.00
. If you want to camp on the race site,
add $20.00 for the week-end.

A driver who enters in
SEMI-PRO oval classes is allowed to race in PRO classes.
A driver who raced in PRO
classes in the previous years cannot race in the SEMI-PRO classes.
A driver who will race
in PRO classes and win some money in 2007 will have to race in the PRO division
in 2008.
DRIVER : general rules A driver must be 18 years old to
compete.
Safety pre-race inspection is mandatory: snowmobile,
approved helmet and life vest. Pre-race
inspection does not mean that the sled is legal.
1. USCG
(or Canadian equivalent) approved Personal Floatation Device required. Must be a bright color to contrast with water.
2. Shoes,
socks, long pants (no exposed skin below waist) and shirts, preferably long
sleeves.
3. Driver
must wear footwear that covers the ankle.
4. Full coverage helmets are mandatory. Helmets will be full protective coverage and carry the 2000 Snell Foundation Approval
Code. This is also mandatory in the tune- up area.
The helmet must be securely fastened at all times. It is mandatory that the driver's helmet must be a minimum of 75% international or blaze orange. The official
will have the final decision about the 75% rule. The driver
will be allowed to put orange blaze
stickers to meet the rule.
5. Driver
must wear eye protection during racing and in staging areas at all times; this
includes mechanics as well.
6. Tether
cord must be hooked to the driver or mechanic whenever the sled engine is
running.
7. Drivers
must have a sportsman-like conduct on and off the water (crewmembers as
well). Penalties will be final, without any discussion.
8. The
starter and / or the race director will determine false starts. If a driver cause a false start, he will have
to restart with the throttle hand on
his helmet.
9. Lane
violations and finish order disputes must be brought to the attention of the
starter and / or race director as
they occur, not later.
10. If
a driver is caught consuming alcool before the end of the program, he will not
be allowed to race anymore for
that particular day. If a driver or a
crewmember is caught drinking alcool in the pit before the end of the program, the driver will be disqualified.
11. As soon as the race program starts, there will
not be any class refund. If you want a
refund before the race program
starts, we will keep the registration amount of one class from the amount that
we will refund.
12. In
drags, top 2 will advance, others will be out.
SLED EQUIPMENT : general rules
1. The engine
displacement must be written on the side of the tunnel (ex. 600 c.c. or 700 c.c. or 800 c.c.)
2. Engine and hood manufacturer must match
together.
3. All
sleds must have an operating tether switch.
4. No studded tracks allowed.
5. Any
commercially available rubber snowmobile track allowed.
6. No flottation devices
allowed.
7. Ski
runners may be removed if ski design allows.
If ski runners are used, they must be standard round bar type. No carbide runners allowed.
8. No
pressurized fuel systems allowed.
9. Must
have a rear snow flap made of a stiff material that touches the ground.
10. The rear most part of the tunnel (excluding the rear
lift bar) can extend no more than 10
inches from the back of the track.
Measurement will be taken from a line perpendicular
to the top of the tunnel (see illustration, 2006 - 2007 I.S.R. Yearbook, p. 89).
11. Only
I.S.R. approved safety warm up stands allowed.
12. Sleds
must have buoy and rope of 15 feet.
13. Sleds must display minimum 8 inches numbers of bright
and contrasting colors on left and
right sides of the sled.
14. All entrants must have a working fire extinguisher in
their pit area.
15. Seat,
gauges, lights and windshield are not mandatory; they also may be modified and
/ or changed.
Gas
and oil tank may be modified and / or
changed.
16. The clutch cover
must be separate from cowl configuration and cover clutches to center of bolt
or below. Clutch cover must be .090 inch
6061 T6 aluminum or equivalent steel material (other materials not allowed) and
be covered with 6 inches belting. If
clutch cover is constructed of .125 inch aluminum (or equivalent steel
material), belting is recommended, not required. Snowmobiles with removable side panels may
bolt clutch cover guard to side panel to meet this requirement.
IMPROVED
STOCK CLASSES RULES :
1. Sleds must meet all 2006 - 2007 I.S.R.
general rules.
2. Suspension modifications allowed, but slides
rails must be OEM by manufacturer.
3. Must retain OEM (from the same manufacturer)
primary and secondary clutches.
4. Any OEM engine in its own OEM brand chassis
(1988 and newer only). 1987 and older must retain OEM engine for that OEM
chassis.
5. Any OEM single pipe
or after market single pipe exhaust system allowed. In both cases, must be
silenced.
6. Engine must be OEM
by manufacturer for the OEM brand chassis.
Engine must remain OEM displacement for year and model but may be
overbored a maximum of one (1) mm (.040) .
7. No
stroking allowed.
8. No sleeving down engines allowed.
9. All injection may be removed.
10. Rotary valve covers may be changed.
11. Reeds
may be changed.
12. Must retain OEM carbs by model but can be
bored.
13. Internal engine parts may be modified but they
must meet preceding rules # 7, 8, 9.
MODIFIED
CLASSES RULES :
1. Sleds must meet all 2006 - 2007 I.S.R.
general rules.
2. Engine limit is by class c.c. limit. 5% over is allowed (example 600 c.c. class 5%
= 630 c.c.).
3. Must have hood and belly pan.
4. Must have silenced exhaust system.
